“Best compost in San Diego County!”

At San Pasqual Valley Soils, we hear that phrase often. And it’s no surprise to us, given the fact we craft it out of the best ingredients we can find and painstakingly manage the biological process required to ensure its quality.

San Pasqual Valley Soils offers a variety of products to enhance the look and fertility of your garden or farm. Choose from our OMRI-listed Valley’s Best Compost®, USCC STA Certified Planter’s Blend Compost, Nitro-Blend Compost, biochar, or try our Raised Garden Bed Mix, Lightweight Rooftop Mix, Bioswale material, Topsoil 50/50, or a custom material blended to your specific needs.

Our composted, weed seed free mulches include a cost-conscious USCC STA Certified California Native Mulch®, slightly higher grade USCC STA Certified Grower’s Mulch, and long-lasting Monkey Hair Mulch®. We also carry playground mulch, and several high quality fir bark and hardwood mulches.

Composting is often equated to cooking, and that’s a fair analogy. Time, temperature, a “recipe mix” of select ingredients (or as we call them in the composting business, “feedstocks”), all must come into play when creating the best compost in San Diego County.

Our composting facility produces compost and mulch that exceed all SB 1383 standards regulated by CalRecycle. We are happy to work with your jurisdiction to procure products to meet these standards. Give us a call to discuss.

We’re a boutique composting operation, and our customers demand the best compost in San Diego County created from the cleanest, source-separated feedstocks. In addition to the best compost in San Diego County, we also sell high quality mulches, barks, soils, aggregates, amendments, specialty mixes and custom blends.

When you purchase compost and mulch from San Pasqual Valley Soils, you are reducing your carbon footprint!

Lack of water has become an issue globally and a huge challenge for gardeners and the agricultural community in the past few years in the San Diego area. Climate change and catastrophic weather events are wreaking havoc on the world’s food supply chain. This recent trend has inspired us to develop new products that will better combat drought while also improving soil fertility. Research has shown that the best way to do this is by improving the health of the existing soil. This has become our focus as we work to do our part to combat climate change and create products to help you live a greener, more sustainable life.

“Improving soil health, on a large scale, is one key way forward. Nutrient rich soils store carbon better than degraded, overworked soil. Plus, healthy soil helps farms stay productive… a win-win.”
